UR Mixology: Watermelon Mint Sangria

It’s time to break out the vodka and update your summer cocktail recipes. Step away from the usual cranberry and vodka and give this mouthwatering watermelon sangria a try. This drink is perfect to serve at a summer barbecue, party or just to have for a chill day at home. Whatever the situation, you won’t regret making this delicious sangria a staple for your summer events.

Watermelon Mint Sangria

[Recipe makes 8 servings. Adjust recipe as desired.]

Ingredients

6 cups cubed watermelon, divided
1/2 (750 milliliter) bottle dry white wine
1/2 cup vodka
1/4 cup triple sec
1/4 cup simple syrup
1/2 medium lime, quartered
1/2 orange, cut into wedges
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
8-10 mint leaves

Directions

Place 3 cups of watermelon cubes in a blender; blend on high until very smooth. Strain juice through a mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Pour the wine, vodka, triple sec, and simple syrup into the pitcher. Stir to combine. Mix the remaining 3 cups of watermelon cubes, the lime quarters, orange sections, and blueberries into the sangria. Chill for 4 hours before serving.

Tip: Add mint to the sangria just before chilling in the fridge. The mint adds a deliciously refreshing element to this recipe. Enjoy!
